Places of Interest
Our cottages are at Rising Sun Farm, just outside of the village of Aldwark, 10 minutes from the A1 and 20 minutes from the historic city of York with extensive shopping facilities and numerous celebrated tourist attractions.
There’s a village store in nearby Tollerton with a wide range of groceries and essentials and the Georgian market town of Easingwold is close by, which has all the local amenities including cafes, grocers and a supermarket. And it’s not far to the North Yorkshire Moors either – approximately 40 minutes to Scarborough and Whitby! After a busy day of sightseeing, Rising Sun Holiday Cottage and Haddock’s Nook are the ideal retreat to relax and recuperate.
Local Fisheries
For the keen angler, complimentary day tickets for the adjoining Rising Sun Fisheries are included with the holiday cottage rental. Our fishery has been established since 1999 and the two smaller lakes were added in 2006.
